Delta Airlines Check-in Desks

Keith Weiland, while living in Atlanta, Georgia, designed new airport check-in equipment for Delta Airlines. The Summer Olympics were in Atlanta in 1996 and the equipment was ready to go in time for that. Keith Weiland worked for his son’s firm Grant Weiland Architects and Innovative Engineering in Atlanta  for this project. Keith designed and engineered the equipment and created the logo and the typeface for Delta. The Greek letter Delta (the triangle) was in front of the airline’s name. Desks with computers, for indoors or outside use, had to be both air conditioned and heated to keep the computers at their proper temperature. New on all pieces was a shelf for the customers to lean or or set their small backpacks and purses on.     Soon after the  Olympics Delta went to the “kiosk model”, said Mr. Weiland. Now, in 2019, Delta logo is all in capital letters and the Greek letter Delta still precedes the name.

18 Regent Drive

Harold Trick Residence

Harold Trick is the father-in-law of Dr. Winkler. After the Winkler Residence at 3 Regent Court was completed, the Tricks built a house for themselves behind the Winkler Residence. The Trick’s Residence address is 18 Regent Drive, but the actual house is up the hill at the level of Regent Court, and is accessed by a right-of-way past the Winkler’s Residence. The photo shows the Regent Drive façade.
